Jeff Sachse

Jeffrey Sachse is a passionate advocate for the use of data to drive better decisions, craft more effective strategies, and transform communities.   His professional and academic career have been built around the personal philosophy that information has no currency unless it is shared.

Jeff’s professional experience includes early roles with the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation and City of Appleton where he learned many of the foundational tenets of community development and growth.  He played an integral role in the master planning of Milwaukee’s Menominee River Valley and commercial development of Appleton’s east side.

Jeff is most publicly known through his tenure as a labor economist for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (2001-2017), most recently serving as the Director of the Office of Economic Advisors.  This office is respected as the primary source of economic data and insights throughout Wisconsin.  Major accomplishments include advising and promoting the development of the Milwaukee 7, New North, Northeast Wisconsin Educational Resources Alliance, and Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance.  His insights also informed the formation of the Wisconsin Fast Forward (2013) and Wisconsin Blueprint for Prosperity (2013) grant programs.

Jeff is a noted expert in economic analysis, strategic design, and community revitalization.  His research has been presented internationally, including in projects sponsored by the Office of Economic Cooperation and Development.  He has also worked on several projects sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment including planning efforts for the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission and the development of a platform to connect entrepreneurs with needed resources through the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Jeff currently serves as an adviser to Kinnektor, an entrepreneurial support organization in Northeast Wisconsin, and Advancing AI Wisconsin.  He is passionate about revitalizing rural communities, assisting young professionals to develop their careers, and serving as a resource to all who desire to illuminate their intuition.
