Roger Russove

Roger Russove has been a fervent supporter of small, locally owned businesses for many years. He spent much of his career in advertising sales and management, working one on one with local businesses to help them grow and succeed. Creating marketing plans to help businesses became a passion for Roger, and as his successes grew, so did his involvement in the communities where he lived and worked.

In 1996 Greg Buckley, the City Manager of Two Rivers, asked Roger to serve on a committee to put together an application for Two Rivers to earn a Main Street designation. When the designation was granted, Roger continued as a volunteer with Two Rivers Main Street, serving as an officer on the board of directors, chairing committees, taking over as the chair on the Two Rivers Ethnic Fest, and eventually taking the reins of the Cool City Classic Car Show & Cruise, the largest event of its kind in northeastern Wisconsin.

In 2015, the position of executive director became available at Two Rivers Main Street. Roger was hired in that position, where he served the organization until 2022. Event organization was a big part of his role, growing existing events and starting new events including Wine Walks and The Bryan Lee Memorial Blues Festival. He continued his professional development by becoming completing the Main Street Accredited Revitalization Professional and a Certified Facilitator of The Destination Creation Course, a program that has allowed him to continue to assist small businesses.

Roger retired from his Main Street position in 2022. He is continuing to work with small businesses through the Destination Creation Course and Wisconsin Main Street, and has done part time work with local communities assisting with event organization and development. He has continued his volunteer work with local events and organizations, as well as serving on the board of directors with the Wisconsin Downtown Action Council.
